Ayanna Wells

Yoga Instructor

Health & Wellness

Ayanna has been an athlete all of her life. Growing up in rural upstate New York, she participated in several sports at a young age and excelled at volleyball and basketball. Ayanna found yoga in college where she took a freshman level course for a semester. Originally not 100% convinced, she continued to have an “on again/ off again” relationship with yoga until 2015. In 2015, Ayanna did work exchange at ExtendYoga (located in North Bethesda, Maryland) studio, originally to build community and learn more about yoga. This initial curiosity later evolved into a passion for the practice resulting in her graduating from ExtendYoga’s teacher training program in January 2018. Ayanna’s excitement for yoga centers around introducing the practice to people who wouldn’t traditionally be exposed to yoga. As a former personal trainer and current health & wellness professional for a large healthcare organization, her passion to expose yoga to athletes blends seamlessly into her life. Ayanna offers a fun yet focused teaching environment with thoughtful themes all sequenced to non-traditional music.
